Ketly Shakira Sylla Memorial Scholarship

This award was created in memory of Humboldt Sociology student, Ketly Shakira Sylla, who was a 22-year old senior when she passed on Sept. 20, 2019. Ketly was an involved student leader on campus and in the community. She was an Educational Opportunity Program student. She worked with the African American Center for Academic Excellence, the Indian Tribal & Educational Personnel Program, and the Student Disability Resource Center. She was also an active member of the CJS and SOC Club. Eligibility: Sociology undergraduate major; enrolled for the upcoming term; and good academic standing.
The Ketly Shakira Sylla Memorial scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a BA or MA in Sociology. Must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to helping those with disabilities. Amounts and numbers of scholarships are estimates, dependent on funding.
