Dr. Everett H. Watkins Memorial Scholarship

The late Dr. Watkins was a local orthodontist and an alumnus of Humboldt. He was past president of the California Wildlife Federation and Sportsmen’s Council of Northern California. In addition, he was president of the North Coast Conservation Council, founding director of Salmon Unlimited, and served for 18 years as the Sportsmen’s representative on the Forestry Committee. Dr. Watkins was also a former president of the HSU Alumni Association (1951-53), recipient of the Association’s Who’s Who Award (1971), and 1987 Homecoming King. He died April 4, 1988. This Scholarship is awarded to a full time CNRS student. Must have been born in Humboldt, Mendocino, Trinity or Del Norte Counties. Amounts and numbers of scholarships are estimates, dependent on funding.
